Turning Points in History: People, Ideas, and Events
The NHD theme relates perfectly to my project on The Great Fire of London. The event was hugely tragic and devastating to the people of London, however because of how much it destroyed people came together and learnt from their mistakes. The people of London had built their houses too close together and built them out of flammable materials. Following the Great Fire, building regulations were created so that different materials were used to build houses, and streets were widened so houses were not so close to each other. The turning point in history was about the building and construction of homes, and the safety and caution people now have around any size of fire, large or small.
